VH1 is a network that, like MTV, at one time used to have something to do with music. And like MTV, they from time to time try to act like they care about music. One of the ways they do this is their "You Oughta Know" series in which they spotlight new artists they apparently believe is essential to your music awareness. Each and every one of these bands is CRAP. Almost every single one is a female artist with a whispery, whiny voice singing trite pop which is too soft and milktoast to even qualify as easy listening. I have no idea whatsoever how they pick which of these yawn-inducing "artists" to push on the public but I suspect it involves bribery in one form or another.

So I decided to do my own "You Oughta Know" thing and I'm a'gonna call it "Bands That Don't Suck". Every Friday I'll pick an artist from my illustrious and coveted Friends list and praise them for not sucking. I'll also pick a song from their track list and add it to my profile. So on the first Friday of every month, drop by and check out someone worthy of your time. There's a lot of awesome talent out there, but you gotta wade through a lot of poop to find it.
